Team Leader Matt Walley has been involved with real estate here in the Lowcountry for the past 5 years and first set foot on the island as a child in 1970. He grew up in a family steeped in real estate since 1898 when his Great Grandfather first opened his real estate company, Walley Agency, about 20 miles north of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The business was handed down from generation to generation and is currently run by Matt’s father Richard, a Realtor and a Real Estate Appraiser. Matt worked along side his parents as a Realtor until 1995 when he relocated to New York City to follow his dream of a career as a professional opera singer. That career afforded him roles with Opera Companies throughout the US, solo engagements in Europe and with several symphony orchestras here at home, in addition to a three solo appearances at Carnegie Hall in New York City and even a lead role on Broadway in Terrence McNally’s Tony Award winning play “Master Class”. In 2003 Matt and his wife Maryann O’Brien chose to relocate from Manhattan to Hilton Head for a better quality of life, and Matt has been back in the real estate business ever since.
“We know that Matt is a true asset and will put his years of experience, knowledge of the Lowcountry and love for people to work for us here in the Hilton Head, Bluffton market,” says Mark Brenneman, former Team Leader and current Operating Principle. “As a company, we have continued to grow even through this shifting market, and we know that Matt will continue to contribute greatly to that growth and our goals.”
